About Us

For three generations, Rays Carpet One Floor & Home has tirelessly served greater Stanislaus County by sharing a passion for design, creativity, and building.

Over four decades ago, longtime floor installer Ray Johnson opened his first flooring shop on McHenry Avenue in Modesto, CA. Since then, the business continues to grow, spanning a longtime tradition of treating every customer like family.

In 1994, Ray’s daughter, Tonya, and business partner, Dave, took over and built Rays Carpet One into what it is today. More recently, their son Chris, representing the next generation of the family business, has taken over as Operations Manager.

Today, Rays Carpet One Floor & Home is considered the region’s premier source for all types of flooring, interior design, and home décor, such as custom window treatments.

While the team certainly has a passion for décor perfection and making every client’s dreams come true, their community involvement certainly doesn’t end there.

Always seeking opportunities to give back, Rays Carpet One Floor & Home is always at the helm of beloved local events, including the Modesto Memorial Classic and the St. Stanislaus Festival. The company is also a proud supporter of various charitable initiatives, including the Christian Berets and the Stephen Siller Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
